I liked the Japanese version of Iron Chef. It was entertaining, quirky and just so foreign. The poor English dubbing and the strange host, who seemed to channel the spirit of Liberace, was part of the appeal. An interesting bit of trivia, Chairman Kaga played Jean Valjean in the Japanese version of the musical Les Misérables.
Well, here's an Iron Chef battle I'd love to see. Thomas Keller vs. Heston Blumenthal. The former #1 restaurant (The French Laundry) vs. the current #1 restaurant (The Fat Duck). Throw in Ferran Adria and the culinary universe may just implode.
The Fat Duck's crab risotto with passion fruit jelly and crab ice cream.
Mmmm...tasty!

Hi Diana - I tripped into your blog (via the "next blog" feature) and really enjoyed your posts - food, Paris, etc. I always wonder about people who have been to Paris and did not fall in love with the city. C'est fou!
