Le parmentier de coq au vin
Even the French eat leftovers. The French version of shepherd's pie is hachis parmentier. I made my own version with leftover coq au vin. It was made from leftover boozy chicken stew topped leftover mashed potatoes and gruyère. No, it's not haute cuisine, but it's not a bad way of recycling leftovers. And everything sounds better when you give it a French name.
